Is this thing any good? it's a tower style heatsink with a copper base and multiple aluminum fins on 3/6 heatpipes currently on sale for $19.99 at svc http://www.svc.com/cr-sw-k8.html

i'm kinda surprised to see such a low price for a heatsink with a copper base and heatpipes.

EDIT: i've tried searching for a review to no avail. anyone know anything about this thing or willing to give it a try?

First, understand what C/Ws are telling you: The difference between a heatsink with a C/W of 0.30 and 0.35 is 5 C at 100 watts under stress. At 50 watts, it's half that. Closely ranked heatsinks may show little or no difference on a motherboard, due to secondary heatpath effects which are not captured in these rankings.

It's still pretty much identical to the Arctic Cooling Freezer 64 Pro.... Considering the price, I think I might be trying it soon as my Zalman is almost dead (RPMs keep dropping lower and lower).

It's nice and quiet with better than stock cooling. Fits all my needs as I don't overclock these days. If I wanted to overclock I'd go back to the TT PIPE101.

Besides, I don't expect it's performance to be any worse than the CNPS7000 when I got it new. Should do the trick.
