I'm about to set up my new system and the CPU happens to be dual-core (Opteron 165). Does this mean I can run two instances of F@H without slowing it down alot? Also, will I have to do any configuring in the F@H client so that it knows which core to fold on or something? Thanks.

Yes you can fold (2) instances of a dual core. Simply set up (2) different downloads of Folding@Home each in its own directory. FAH1, FAH2, are what I use. Or you could use Wedos oneclickfor dual core.

This is a nice place to get good info for setting up.http://www.ocforums.com/showthread.php?t=386159

Yes you can set the affinity in task manager to push each instance to its own cpu core.

What he said...
And if not using the oneclick, make sure to set the -local flag for each instance as well.

Setting affinity is more trouble than it's worth. No one to date has shown any performance benefit from doing so.

If you don't use the one click make sure to give each instance a different machine ID (from 1-8).
