Upon moving all my old hardware to my 'new' P4P800-ED, I have been unable to have my machine stable for more than 4 days. This is a Windoze XP Screw U Pack 2.

I started with the 66.93 drivers and I would get a bsod w/stop x00000050 declaring the issue was with nv4_disp.dll. Upgraded the drivers to the newest Forceware version 8, 84.25 and I noticed a curious problem.

I always have been able to watch video while my mmorpg is on in the background, however, with ALL forceware 8 drivers, I am unable to view video (multicolor lines no pattern), audio comes through fine. If I do not have the mmorpg on in the background, the video comes through fine.

If I revert back to Forceware v6 or v7, I am able to watch video with the mmorpg in the background, however, depending on the driver version I either get a stop/x50 (nv4_disp.dll) or stop x/8e(no additional information). I have to check my WMP version, but I believe I am still using v9.

I have run prime95 & memtest - no errors.
I have run the burn in wizard from Sandra - no errors.

I'm waiting for a new crash dump, so I can analyze it with WinDBG. Anyone have suggestions, other than stop having the mmorpg in the background? :)

The newer drivers have the purevideo acceleration, its possible its conflicting with the game since both use the DX9 hardware. I think there is an option somewhere in the NV control panel to disable the video acceleration. Try that and see if it clears up.

Is this something I really want to disable? What kind of adverse affects would occur?

Just a quick note, the machine has been stable for 1 day since I have changed the pagefile to the system drive, I am quite sure this is just luck.

I am not really sure what to do with my driver problem. The most recent Dump file I received is complaining about win32k.sys, my machine was up for 5 days. It was in a catatonic state after an application error occured with my mmorpg, all processes locked up.

Strangely, the machine did not reboot on its own.

I have no idea what the problem is, I doubt it's temperature. However, I have not ruled it out, so I went out and bought an Accero X1 (not installed yet). Nvidia CPanel says 73C TOPS at full load.

It may have something to do with the power supply, will check it out. My PS is in my sig, I thought it was pretty good 480W Thermaltake.

Here is my memory dump for those who care, there is no doubt it's the driver, BUT I cant use Forceware 8 drivers because I want to be able to watch movies while I play my MMOPRG. :p

weird now im having the same "nv4_disp.dll" crashing error any time i play a DX9 based game. Every thing else is tested stable im guessing its a psu problem :|

The strangest thing about my issue is with 66.93 drivers, I will be good for about 4+ days definitely.

From my point of view, it is definitely the driver, I would love to use Forcware 8 drivers, but it just will not work with this card. I have tried lowering all acceleration on the card and still I get a green screen for a movie.

If I'm not playing my MMORPG everything is fine. NVIDIA u *astar*s!!!

Getting 65C at MAX load usage with Accelero X1.

Strangely, if I loosen the memory timings on my machine the computer seems more stable.

Why would memory timings affect the video card?

Adam, I appreciate your response, but why would loosening memory timings increase stability and make you suggest a power supply problem?

Will review the PS this evening.

Is it possible this mobo just has a hard time dealing with 2-2-2-5 settings?
