Again, Thanks for taking the time to allow me to interview you.

Sure thing, wasn't expecting this ::chuckle::.

When did you join the Team? Approximate date is ok if you don't know the specific date.
I believe it was the beginning of August of 2005.

If there was something recent that you did that you wanted your fellow teammembers to know about, what would it be?
This evening I jumped in a dumpster to retrieve a little boombox . Works too, and it came with a new Keith Urban CD

What is your EOC (extremeoverclockers) stats link?
Here

You do not have to give specifics (address), but what State do you live in, and if you don't mind telling, what town? (town is not required, but if not a town, a general direction and distance from the nearest 'big town/city' would suffice)
Braidwood, Illinois. It's roughly 45 minutes south of Chicago on I-55

How did you initially hear about F@H?
Actually, I had heard of it on the forums but hadn't looked into it much. Then a friend of mine from SomethingAwful told me about it. And I became interested. I've now almost caught him point wise, and have surpassed his ppd as of now.

After starting, why do you continue to Fold?
Research, competition, and the fun.

What do you do for a living?
I work as a computer technician for our family owned and operated Office Equipment business. I maintain various networks in the chicagoland area, and a few locals as well. All installations would be considered very small, typically 15 to 40 people. I also do various odd-jobs here and there such as wiring up car stereos, fixing older electronics (I'm still learning), etc.

What do you do for fun?
I get together with a few friends and either help them with their projects, or get out and go for a nice drive/walk. Lately I've been going dumpster diving in place of the walks, and it's alot of fun for me. I'm on a strict budget at the moment as I'm saving for a downpayment on a house, so anything that I can do on the cheap really works for me.

Is there anything special you do in your spare time that you really enjoy?
I like helping people out. I read alot, much more than I can retain. I've found I'm good at finding information but not retaining it for long periods of time.

Time to spill your guts. What are the stats of your main folding rig? Why is it your fave? What all do you use the rig for?
Well my newest/fastest machine (which happens to fold 24/7), is a machine I built in December of 2003.

AMD Barton 2500+ Oced to 2.2Ghz (200x11), stock voltage
Asus A7N8X-E Deluxe motherboard
(2) 512MB PC-3200 Corsair Value Select at default timings
Sapphire ATI Radeon 9600XT
120GB Western Digital Hard-Drive
Lite-on DVD/CDRW Combo Drive

It's still very peppy, and it's more than enough for my day to day activities. When I eventually sell off a few of my older machines I'll probably build a nice little Socket 939 system, or maybe two Socket 754 systems. Eitherway, I typically only upgrade as I clear out older computer hard-ware. Although I've recently started aquiring a few more nForce 2 boards. But that's another obsession.

Do you have a Borg-Farm? If so, how many computers, and what are they? (CPU, RAM)
I've got the capability, but most of the machines are not worth really running 24/7 because of the lack of speed. Therefore I've got 5 computers going in our house right now:

Dad's new computer, Celeron D 2.9Ghz
Our Home Server, Athlon 1Ghz
My Barton 3200+, and Sempron 2200+
And my Sister's Duron 1.1Ghz

All but my Dad's computers are actually mine, just being put on different duties if you will. I also have another machine (Pentium III 800, that's mine that is being loaned to another sister, folding).

What are your future goals? What do you most want to accomplish with your life?
Future goals consist of buying my own place. I'd like to meet a nice woman and settle down in a few years. I'm a very simple person so nothing too extraordinary. I'd like to build a couple of things such as a wind generator, a powered parachute, etc. Just random irons in the fire if you will.

If there is something you want to tell the team, then spill your guts! What have I missed in my questions that could help the team learn more about you and who you are?
Nothing off-hand, except maybe that you guys/girls are all an awesome bunch of people. It's truly a great forum here, and it's active. I sometimes (well often) get ansy waiting for a reply to a thread and such. It's a pleasure to know all of you.

Cool to meet you, PCGuy.
I don't know anything about wind generators. But would that wind generator be used to power something like maybe.. a folding farm?
On 2nd thought, maybe that wouldn't be feasible.

GJ on your first interview LS.

Glad to learn more about you Jim.

I too would like a wind generator to supplement the farm power but too many trees and not enough reliable wind here.

Good luck wih all the endeavours

And of course FOLD ON!
