Majestic-12

I just made us a Majsetic-12 team. http://www.majestic12.co.uk/ It's a lot more complicated to sign up and join a team and such, and I can't find our stats page on their site anywhere. Anyway, team name is, of course, overclockers.com

it IS a bit of a pain to get signed up... but i'm gonna figure out how to optimize the client to use as little CPU as possible and to get the most points as possible.

I think i'm only gonna have 1 machine doin' this project. But at least i joined.

I'll try it out in a bit, I'm sitting out in the sun using the wireless card I got for free last week.

http://www.majestic12.co.uk/projects...12node/manual/

there is the "manual" for majestic 12. It includes how to install, register, and join a team.

I'm compiling mono, hopefully it won't be too long now.

I got mono but its not wanting to run. (I've read the docs and everything)

i dunno. I set mine to 10% usage on upload and download... and it is working fine. I think what is going on is you have it set to a default setting to constantly compress all the results and then send them once you reach a certain file size. I just have mine set to get so many results, then it sends them without compression....

I got it mostly working through the web interface but it hasn't actually started crawling yet.

I'm going to turn up my bandwidth usage all the way on it before I go to bed tonight to see how much it helps.

I'll try tweaking the settings too, once I turn in my first few uploads.

After I turned my bandwidth up on mj12 last night, my points shot up and the best part is, I still didn't notice any internet speed decrease!
