I would really enjoy going to one of these, unfortunately, there are none of these anywhere around my area.

If you don't live around either of those areas and want to go to a cool convention and live near Ohio, you could always check out the Ohio LinuxFest. (http://www.ohiolinux.org/) I hear it's pretty good, however, I haven't had the chance to check it out yet.
