Surround Sound Not So Surround?

About a month or two ago, I bought some 5:1 surround sound speakers from the Creative Ebay store (refurbished). However, about 4 days ago I realized that no sound was comming out of them. I am haven't changed the way anything is plugged in, an am very confused as to why there is no sound comming out of them. Anyone have any ideas?

What sound card do you have? That can also make a difference.
