I just went through a small ordeal with my nano not connecting and i noticed there isnt really a wealth of info on the ipod's

so ill start things out

to "reboot" your nano
turn lock on then off
then hold down menu and the middle button for 6-10 seconds

for 3rd generation ipods (and probablly earlier) to get into the diagnositc mode, hold down play and menu to reset, then while its resetting hold down the forward and backward buttons...

I've been having problems with the Linux boot, whenever I forget to shutdown, instead of going into standby it just wastes the battery until it's finished. The next time I boot it my mp3 files don't show up anymore! So I've had to reinstall it twice already...still, it is sweet being able to play Doom.
