Digital MiniDV Camcorder opinions

I would say thats a good price. My friend and I both own Sony cameras and they are good quality. The newer Panasonics use Leicia lens which are supppsed to be better than the Carl Veiss lens on Sony. I also hear that Sonys break alot, but I've put my camera through a lot of crap and its held up well.
