Fan size on stock S939 cooler.

What is the stock fan size in mm of the stock 3700+ S939 cooler?

Thats a bit small for such a powerful processor, do these new 3700+ run hot?

Single core A64s run pretty cool. I have my Opty144 running at 2.6ghz (400 mhz faster than that 3700+), and I am using the stock cooler, with temps around 44-48C load depending on room temperature. To be honest, putting a more powerful fan on the AMD stock heatsink doesn't really make sense because the heatsink itself isn't that good, I imagine the gains would be limited. Its better to just go for a new heatsink.

Yeah, see if you can get you a retail hsf from a Opty 165 and up or X2-4400 and up. That is a 4 heatpipe heatsink and work very well. Or you can get an XP90 with a Panaflo H1BX and have good cooling too.

If you need a good cooler for cheap, this is a good deal.
