file monitoring


I am looking for a program (as always: paid is not so good; freeware is better; open source is best) that will monitor a specified folder and record whenever files are added/modified/deleted. Anything out there that does something like this?

You might take a look at this. I don't think it will run in the background (not sure though) if that is important though...
