Semron 2600+ vs. 3400+ Newcastle

Hey guys, I am really considering gettinga CPU in the classifieds, but what I want to know is how it will compare to my Sempron.

Right now I have my Sempron up at 2 ghz, but it could go up to abou 2.4 before I need to get a new cooler. Its got 64 bit enabled, SSE3, 128 kb L2, and it is generally a cool CPU, temp wise.

What would I expect with a newcastle? And would it be worth upgrading? Its used for my HTPC btw.

Personally, I don't think its worth it. My sempy does 2.7GHz and it feels faster than my bro's Newcastle 3400 which maxes out at 2.5GHz. L2 Cache isn't as important on the K8 as it is on the P4.
