question about dual opty or dual xeons.

I have some questions about both of them.
1. Are there any socket 940 motherboards or any dual xeon motherboards that are sli compatible?
2. If i get 2 single cpus like a 254 troy will both of them equal up to dual core?
3. If i am going to be doing alot of gaming,using maya and 3d max,word,surfing the net, and photoshop which one is better for me? Intel xeons or dual optys? Thank you

Opterons are far superior to Xeons in all the fields you mentioned above, if you want a processor to heat up your home for the winter get a Xeon, if you want the best server cpu available get an Opteron.

Well dual opertons, the dual core ones are $300 a pop +.
The dual core xeons must be cheaper, they are old.

If your willing to spend a little more, go with the DN800-Sli (previously mentioned). I have this board and love it, no regrets!
