not sure if it's just the 2007FPW, but check for reviews on the banding issue and stay clear from it if it has it.

Passive matrix. Some claim its 500:1 contrast ratio and not 700:1. Hmmh.

I have the 1907FP and I love it, infact I loved it so much I bought a second.

I also have a 2007FPW, it has the banding issue, and as far as I know Dell is currently working on a fix for it.

Here is what they look like on my desk

Holy crap man that's an awesome setup!!! Out of curiousity, what do you do that requires (or benefits from) that 3-monitor, ultra-widescreen desktop resolution?

Anyhow, the real reason for my post is a question for you: Can you confirm that the 1907 does NOT suffer from the color banding issue prevalent with the 2007 monitors? I'm building a gaming rig for my brother-in-law and I need to recommend a nice LCD monitor for no more than $350.

Neither of my 1907FP's have any color banding issue, at least not compaired to the 2007FPW which has horrible color bands that are easily visible in any game!

I used the monitor on the left for Email/AIM/Bittorrent/Winamp , I have all 4 of them up on that screen all the time. The center monitor I use for surfing and gaming, and posting on OCforums , the right monitor I use for watching a TV show that I have on my PC (unless its widescreen) then I use the center monitor. I have really become addicted to this 3 LCD setup, I can't imagine how I lived with a CRT for so long!

ALSO , dell had a great deal on the 2007FPW, it was selling for about 354.xx , and now that they fixed the banding issue, that is a EXCELLENT price for this monitor!

I noticed your keyboard and mouse resemble mine. I got the Saitek Eclipse Keyboard & Razer Diamoundback (blue). What do you have? Also do you think i should buy a 2007FPW or the 1907?

I have the Saitek Eclipse Keyboard & Razer Copperhead Blue

Get the 2007 if you are a gamer, I would never game again on anything that isn't wide screen
