My CPU's crap out around 3.53Ghz and the NCCH-DL doesn't have any Voltage options in BIOS setup so I want to do a Vmod. My CPU's have a stock Vcore of 1.388V so I guess only a small increase to 1.425 or 1.450 might get me to the mainboards' maximum setting of 233FSB. I've found various descriptions about the U-wire trick but I need to be absolutely certain I have the correct socket (Socket 604) holes!!! Can anyone help me out? See my signature for system details...

PIN MODDING SOCKETS TO GET higher CPU voltage for 3+Ghz: 1.6v

Simple pin mod of sockets to get 1.6v VCORE:
Use a thin strand of copper speaker wire cut 8-9mm in link and made into a U shape and this is a good link to follow:

For 1.6Ghz and 2.4Ghz 1.3v Low Voltage Xeons connect B2-B3, C2-C3, D2-D3

For 2.4ghz 1.5v Xeons connect D2-D3

To get more than 1.6v VCORE (be careful!):

On the Xtremesystems link, they show you how to get 1.5 or 1.6 volts.

All those are referring to older types of Xeons, while my Irwindale Xeons have C1E and can lower their VID and multiplier so I need to know what happens when you do any U-wire mod...

off topic... how do you like the Irwindale's on the NCCHDL i was thinking of takeing out my MO's putting them into one of my PCDLs and buying or stealing a pair :p
