Hi all

I am getting the Antec P180 case for my new build.
I have to find a suitable PSU though.
I am not going for SLI yet, but I want to be prepared for it.
However, if for example an 600W PSU comsumes much more
power than 450W with otherwise indentical hardware,
I will go for the latter. I have yet to find out about that.
Antec strongly recommends their own PSU:s (no surprise) for
the P180. Due to the odd placement of the PSU in the P180
there could be problems like too short cables I guess.
What do you have to say about that?
The main reason for choosing P180 is low noise level. Maybe you
would suggest another case.

Thanks in advance
Fred

Even Antec's PSUs have difficulties reaching some motherboards when installed in the P180. For example I had a Antec TP2.0 550W and my Asus P5WD2 motherboard and the 4pin ATX cable barely made it to the motherboard connector. To make a long story short, I finally got a Silverstone ST560ZF (yes it's SLI) which has nice long 21.5" cables and it works great.

i have a ocz powerstream 520 in my p180. The 4+4 ATX power cable is a bit of a stretch, but I tucked it under my video card and it works just fine. The ocz ps520 is a tad long tho, so I had to change out the 38mm fan in the lower bay to a 25mm one. Works fine now and havent had any problems since.
