Which Live For windows file recovery?

Knoppix is what I swear by for this. PCLinuxOS is an ok alternative, but for me, knoppix is familiar and seems to be very fast at recovering NTFS.

thats what i downloaded... was that correct? btw wtf is a are all the extra files.. i know wtf a md5 and iso file is... but what about the rest?

He meant iso file. just take the iso file (biggest one) and run the md5 file on it (md5summer does a good job) and burn the iso with nero

the md5 isnt really needed, but if you want..
 
If Knppoix doesn't work, try PCLinuxOS. I salvaged all of the files from a freinds hard drive (it had 1174 virus instinces) using the LiveCD, backing up all of her data to a DVD using K3b.

Got me. I think sha is another type of hash alg, but I don't know about asc.
