Having trouble with this piece of hardware that converts PATA/IDE devices into SATA connections. The ASRock isn't liking this one. We have the HDD in the red SATA-II port and the new device in port 1 of the black SATA-I ports. Device (DVD-ROM) LG isn't showing up in devices now.

Open to suggestions.

thanks

BIOS ASRock p1.80

edit...tried the new hardware in the Red SATA-II port....... no luck.....tried all SATA(s) no luck. :-/:(

Might be the SATA-to-PATA device. Trying on another system in a few minutes here. Standby!

The device only supports 100-133 maybe the DVD-ROMS are 150?????

Tried in a different system, no luck.... I guess I'll tell him to ship the device back.

That's the problem. You know more about it than me....did a google.... I guess it's only for HDDs.

thanks, Gnufsh.
