Which Opteron 165 Stepping?

Which is best for air? CCB1E or CCBBE?
What would you pick if you had the choice?

i'd pick the CCB1E simply because I have a CCBBE that i don't like.

I believe I've read and seen a chart with CCB1E with better results.

Cheator what stepping do you have? and how high does it clock?

I don't know how high it clocks, and I don't have the exact stepping (it is my spare 165 in my htpc). I tried overclocking it once nad it seemed worse than my CCBWE 0551. Thats all i can offer. Sorry man

if you're using air cooling. you want to get a CCBBE due to the fact that it runs cooler, and is less sensitive to heat.

I had a CCBBE 0550 UPMW, and it ran anything but cool, hehe. It was an awesome stepping and I was running 323x9 on 1.475V (bios).

Known good steppings that are capable of 3ghz:
CCB1E 0550VPMW
CCBWE 0550UPMW (Some are crappy actually) << I used to have a good one!
CCB1E 0605XPMW
CCB1E 0606VPMW
CCB1E 0608MPMW
CCB1E 0609FPAW
CCB1E 0609FPMW
CCBBE 0610DPMW
CCBBE 0615DPMW

Honorable Mention:
CCBWE 0530TPMW (2.9ghz avg.)
CCBWE 0546XPMW (2.85ghz avg.)
CCBWE 0609FPAW (Unconfirmed precise averages, but seems to be 2.8-2.9)

AVOID if you want to hit 2.8ghz+:
CCBWE 0534SPMW
CCBWE 0543TPMW
CCBWE 0546MPMW
CCBWE 0551 (Any packing code) (2.7-2.75ghz 1.55v)
CCBWE 0602 (Any packing code)
CCBWE 0607 (Any packing code) (2.65ghz 1.55v)

I think from what I have seen, CCB1E 0608 MPMW is one of the best.

your CCBBE 0550UPMW didn't run cool because it wasn't a CCBBE. it was a CCBWE.

Now I feel stupid, thanks. For some reason, always believed that there were only 2 memory controller revisions, not 3.
