you dont have to push it till it breaks the important thing is if your happy with it and that it is functional. Are you happy or do you want to push it even farther?

The SuperPi 1M seems high. I can get 26s here at only 4.2GHz on a 965EE and this is a single thread app anyway. I think it's your memory, it's not delivering the goods fast enough. Do a PhotoWorks test in Everest and you'll see how the score will go up just by increasing the bandwidth/improve the latency.

At 4.2GHz I had the memory set to 1000MHz at 4-3-4-6 and HyperPath3 = Enabled.

You should be getting about 24s I reckon as you're 700MHz ahead

it's likely that your tight memory timings and super fast memory speed is what is providing your faster superpi score...

superpi likes fast memory and tight timings

try running at 4.2ghz with 667 or 800mhz memory speeds with looser timings and see what you get

i get 29 secs with 4.42ghz with 4,4,4,12,4 timings at ~800mhz memory speed

42c load is VERY low, i usually crank voltage till my load temps are ~55c. is that 4.9g stable or bench stable? what voltage you running? [can't see attached pics over there without being a member]

Has anyone burnt a 65nm cpu at high Vcore yet.I bought a 940 that ran 4.3G at stock vcore 4.8 at 1.45V and 5.12 at 1.65Vcore, the top is as flatter than I could lap it so thinking the 940s were good I got a second from the same store, same batch mumber. It will not even boot at the same settings as the first is when totaly stableand the top is not flat. It will run 4.8G at 1.65Vcore so I will run there till it fries so I know what is safe for my good cpu.

full load at 1.65Vcore for both cpus is around 50-52C.

regardless of the temps, i think ~20% over stock vcore is risking an early chip death...at least i'd say earlier than 3 years, which i wouldn't risk...

but, it's only ~$200-300 to replace it...

I doubt that, on a fresh reformat with some mild tweaks, I get 25.766 seconds @ 5110mhz memory @ 400 4-4-4-12 (Old PQI stuff). I think you're using the patched SuperPI that benifits from SSE3.
