Out of the game a while and in need for a new vidcard...

Hey fellas...

after trying to run q4 with my system it looks like my vidcard is my new bottleneck. I just cant get above 24fps @ 1280x720 2xaa 4xaniso and thats my minimum gaming standard. I dont wanna even try fear with this performance...

I'll overclock the card to hell, but it has to be preferably bellow $350USD and must have 512MB of vram.

I'm thinking on getting this baby:

i have it and love it, couldnt be happier, i upgraded from a 6800gs, only thing is be prepared to use ati tool to change fan speed to 100% while gaming cause well this bad boys gets hot, i just bought a new cooler for it and its alot better than stock, and i dont have to deal with the fan noise

i read your thread... i'm drooling already :drool:

i will just reset the stock cooler with some AS5, i dont like that thermalright cooler since i'd have to get an extra fan and it would be a ghettoish hassle to push the air out.

are there any flashable x1800xls still out?

yea i removed that fan to blow air out , since it really didnt make a change in temps

, as for x1800xl i believe ppl bought the msi x1800xl 512mb and flashed it to xt they bought it from zipzoomfly.com

I would say a 7900GT and volt mod it. Cheap, super effictive and Doom 3 engine likes nvidia cards better.

I've certainly looked at nvidia cards. I never rule out a component because of its brand, but IQ is still better with ATI and good IQ is a standard i like to stick to.
