3DMark2001/Compressed textures/Radeon?

OK with the new 3286 drivers I can set the 3d2001 benchmark test to any combo with resolution,buffer,sampling etc and it runs rock solid with is great,

But when I use compressed textures option regardless of other settings after 1 or 2 benchmark tests it pops back to the desktop and gives me a corrupted file error. Whats the scoop with this?? Anybody else experience this same problem?? It drives me nuts!
