i have a dfi lanparty with dual nics. 1 i have to my internet the other is going to my printer with the jet direct card. it's been wokrin fine for months but now my second lan car dkeeps tryin to t aquirre a network address?? and i get a limited or no conctivity messege. i know how to assign the priter a port and evrything i just can't get teh second nic to stop tryin to connect. cna anyone help?

assign that NIC a static IP address.
Go into network connections, properties of the printer NIC, highligh Internet Protocol (TCPIP), click properties. Enter the static IP there.
Assume your Jetdirect has the IP 192.168.100.20, then enter the following:

IP: 192.168.100.2
Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
default gateway: leave it EMPTY
DNS: empty.
You can then make a printerport at 192.168.100.20

The important thing is that the first 3 numbers of the IP between PC and printer mus be the same.
