Could S.O point me in the direction of good EASY TO USE, IDIOT FRIENDLY defrag software FOR FREE as I'm having all sorts of issues with the windows one.

Ach! I'm having the same problem as the windows one.
Cannot run it until Chkdsk is run.
But Chkdsk won't work!

Ahh, you should have said that was the problem you were having. Your indexes and such are fubar'ed. That needs to be fixed first with chkdsk. What do you mean by "Chkdsk won't work"?

There is a diskkeeper lite version 9.0.528.0 that's free. Im using it but cannot remember where I got it from.
