Gamer Vs. Other LCDs

What are/is the differences in the LCDs that have the Gamer tag as compared to just a regular or Widescreen LCD? I'm wanting to buy a new 19" LCD and I'm having a heck of a time trying to pick one out.

LCDs with a gamer tag may not necessarily have any credibility to them and I personally wouldn't trust 'em all too much.

I recommend something from either Samsung or Dell.

I have had really good luck with Acer I currently have a 19" LCD by Acer that is rated at 12ms and I have never seen any ghosting and I will be recieving a 20" widescreen tomorrow that is 8ms and I know a couple friends that have the monitor im getting and they dont see ghosting with them. Acer is significantly cheaper then Dell and Samsung and they are now coming with a 3 year warranty.

Quoted For Truth.

Good marketing does not equate to a good product.

The Gamer monitors might have lower response time. The ghosting issue varies a lot from different people.

I have the Benq 20.1 and love it, my roomie swears he can see a bit of ghosting but he is also a twitch gamer so he is stuck on CRT's.

The almost x2 cost for a "gamer" LCD seriously makes me question the validty/usefulness of that.

How about a Hyundai? I see the L90D which has 16.7m colors; height,Pivot, and Tilt settings; and comes with a 1gig USB thumb drive to boot for 232.00 @ Newegg
