i'm loading windows right now so this is it, but sitting for about 10 minutes in the bios gave me 27C in an 84F room using this fan: http://www.sidewindercomputers.com/de12trbllows1.html

Looks good so far! I'll post again once I get it folding

whoops! just noticed cpu q-fan is on. The fan can be spinning up to 2000rpm so temps could get even lower!

it's running stock right now. I literally just finished building it. It's a step 5, which overclocks very well, but i'm not ready to screw with a $500 ES yet .

woot! gets even better. 25C idle today and 33C full load!

Also, my ambient temp is down to 78F.

yeah I did use as5. the "half a grain of uncooked white rice" in the middle of the heatspreader.

hmmm, it appears the temp sensor is... not good? it is a very early bios. but it's the only one that works with the chip.

My T2600 idles @ 21c on the max vcore the board has LOL.

Conroe runs cool

Yonah and Merom are MUCH MUCH cooler running than Conroe. They use low power transistors, which as the name would imply results in much lower power consumption/heat output, but do not scale as well.

For the record, I was getting basicaly 1C above ambient fully volted and loaded on Yonah on a Tuniq Tower.

My Conroe has never seen temps above 0 so I can't comment, though it puts very minimal load on my Prometeia when at stock. (+1-2C loaded)

okay I have just learned you need a special utility to get correct temps!

my real load is 47C both cores
real idle is about 37C on both cores

plenty of space for improvement!

That is still very good temps. My D950 Idles at 44C @ stock speeds.

It's pretty good but the conroe is supposed to be a 65W chip, your 950 is over 100, correct?
