Looking for a new laptop

Ok the curent laptop isnt cuting it anymore and im selling both my desktops, so ill have rufly $3500~$5000, i start college this yr so I knw i need a dual core proc, and at least 2g of memory. I mostly use my laptops now for is music/video editing and a but load of other stuff, and would realy like to play games on it. My ?s are what are some good brands atm, i was looking at alienware and dell, but also looked into the barebone systems, which one would b my best bet.

Dell E1705 With a cheap core Duo then you can drop in memron aka moblie conroe. 7900GS, 2GB rams, all for under 2K easy
