*Need a board with 2x PCI-Express x16* what to buy? Intel 915, 945 or nVidia?

hi guys;

as the title stated, i need 2 pci-express x16 slots mainly for the video card, and for a raid controller.

overclocking is not my main concern, and i'm looking for feedback on which of those chipset are better. since most of the money will be invested on the sata2 hdd, and raid controller, i'm just looking for good board which will not cost too much.

here are 3 motherboards i picked out from newegg:

- JetWay J775GT4-G Socket T (LGA 775) NVIDIA nForce4 SLI
- BIOSTAR I915P-A7C Socket T (LGA 775) Intel 915P
- ECS 945PL-A (1.0) Socket T (LGA 775) Intel 945PL Express

thanks for all your opinion and suggestions!

um well for starters those 2 things wont happen. if ocing is what you want with dual 16x pci-e. then scratch those boards off your list.

first thing that needs to be known is how much you have to spend on your mobo?

sorry, i just noticed my error.... updated.

overclock is NOT my concern on this pc. there is no set of money limit on the cpu/mobo, but i would just like to have this setup last a good while before i need to upgrade anything.

to be honest, i would love to use the old 865pe chipset, if they have pci-express x16 slots on them.

i guess i'm going for best bang for the buck setup.

thx for the reply!

well right now then look at a intel core 2 duo E6600.
hmm mobo which to choose....

if you want some higher end intel chipsets look for at the boards in this thread.
http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...d.php?t=101408
these boards listed are core 2 ready, there are very few low end boards for core2 atm. in all if you get the e6600 look at about $500(high side) with mobo, might me less depending on mobo.
