x2 4200+ and Sempron 2600+ questions!

You know, cause you're closely related

So I am looking into geting a nice, and now cheap, 4200+ X2 for my s939 HTPC. I am just wondering if it comes with that heatpipe cooler. Thats pretty much the only selling pont for me, from the 3800+ x2.

Also, I have a Sempron 2600+ thats the newest revision and clocks like a mofo. Right now I have it at 2152 mhz which is just incredible. So what I am wondering is what core is it based on? Is it a crippled venice? or is it it's own core based on the T-Bred design? I am just amazed at how cool it is running. At 1.45 volts, with an ambient of 45C, it is runnign at 52C (And thats using The Coolest's Core temperature tool as well as Speedfan). I am told this si a 62W CPU but it seems so much less.

Thanks guys!

Sempron is a unique core. It is the same as a Venice but physically has less cache (not crippled cache). If you look at the core it is smaller. And they run cool, at stock speed my load temps are like 30c. The wattage ratings from AMD are exagerated, think about it, how can a 2.2 and a 1.6ghz cpu put out the same watts? I have a 2500+ that does 2.7, step the gas on that thing!

Oh I know it doesn't have the cache, and I am fairly sure that contributes to the less wattage, I am just wondering what core they are based on. I know the Venices are cool running, so I thought they were the base of these sempies.

Once again, they are their own core called Palermo. They are most similar to Venice but they came out at the same time iirc. They are both cool because they are both Rev. E6 90nm. It's like comparing a SanDiego to Venice, they aren't based off each other the cache is just different.

Yeah they did come out at the same time. I know they are 90nm too, but these are especially cool. With all of my 90nm chips (even my opties) they've ran hotter than this little bugger on less volts. Anyway thanks for the sempy answers.
