Mouse dying or something else?

I use the mouse (an old ms optical 1.1) for about an hour or so and windows says something is wrong with a usb device and the mouse light goes off.

i just unplug it and plug it into another slot and it's back working......

i know mouses are pretty cheap, but i just wanted to make sure.

Does this happen with any other usb devices? If not, it's likely mouse-related, either driver or hardware

happened once with my usb keyboard, but its been fine ever since....

bleh my keyboard is also starting to die at times :/

Your 5v rail may be below spec which could cause this problem. Check your voltages.

my ps/2 mouse works fine during all this though.
