ok sence the recent price drops.. i am thinking about a new cpu... i am lookin at either the 3800 or the 3700.. ( not interested in AM2 or a x2 or opty ) what do you guys/gals thinks would be best thanks in advance

I know you're not interested in them, but the X2s have decent overclocsk and GREAT performance with no consequence.

Anyway, back to what you want to hear :D. I'd go for the 3700+, simply because the 1meg of L2 and the San Diego core are hard to resist at that price. The 3800+ is a nice chip for sure, but you can OC the 3700+ to make up the difference and then some. L2 = teh awesome

I had a 3700+ before and it did 2.9 Ghz on air like a champ. I have no experience with the 3800+, but I can definitely recommend the 3700+.
