6600gt. i need some proformance numbers

ok i need some numbers on stock 6600gt AGP and oc'ed versions. and how they compare to 6800's

a stock 6600gt AGP 128mb 128bit will do 7927 in 3dmark03 and ocd to 626/1272 it will pull 10009 in 3dmark03... my friends 6800nu PCIe 256mb 256bit will pull 8300 stock and overclocked 8700 (he cant get much of an oc out of it)

For what it's worth, i get 4007 in 3dmark05 when run at default 3dmark settings when oced to 575/1.15. This is the first rig in my sig.

Can you run the test at defaults? Changing the resolution doesn't really give a score that can be compared.

in 03 i was just getting over 16k with this cpu at 2800 and the 6600s @ 550/1.14

so the 6600gt when oc'ed is pretty good and not much of a gain from a 6800.

so what brand of 6600gt should i go with?

afaik 2 6600s are like a 6800.. id just go with a 6800, or better..

I scored 3373 oc'ed at 585/1113 in 3DMark05 free version. I seem to be on the low end here.

What are your performance settings in the control panel? Do you have them gloabal or .exe specific? I've read through tweakguide's nvidia settings, but would be interested in your settings.

it depends. The lower 6800's really aren't that much better than the 6600gt at all. The 6800gs and up are.

in the last year ive gone from a 9600xt, to a bfg 6600gt, then added a pny 6600gt, then ditched em both, and got a 7900gt. 2 6600gts are pretty good tbh, also i found out that in sli, your supposed to plug the monitor into the bottom card.. ive had it in the top card the whole time... i should try em out like that..

also that 10k screenie, is that sli or just one card? if its one card, thats a pretty good score

I just got 7807 in 3DMark 03. It wasn't bad, but I need better cooling. I hate it. I would OC, but the stock coolign has me runnign at 65 Idle.

I got 10027 w/ a single 6600GT clocked at 615/1225 & 16824 in SLI before I sold the other 6600GT. Decent cards for the $$$ IMO.

i love the thing to death... i have in planning a vram mod... ima put a thermal probe on my ram on my gfx card and overvolt it... see how much more i can get out of the thing....

higher end 6800's blow the doors off of 6600gts.. like the 6800gs , 6800gt (20% better @ stock than my ocd 6600gt) and 6800 Ultra
