Question Badcaps.net Order Experience

I contacted them about a quote for a small number of caps for a motherboard first of last week, and received a timely reply. I then paid for them by PayPal that evening. I did not hear a peep from them regarding order or shipping status for a few days after the order was placed. I then emailed them but did not receive a response from that either. I made a post on their BB asking for other users order experience there, and finally received a reply to that post stating that they do not send emails after a payment is made, and assuring me that the order has been shipped. After that reply the post disappeared from their BB, and I was not able to gather any info regarding others order experience, especially regarding shipping time. It has now been over a week and I still have not received any caps from them. I would like to ask if anyone here has ordered from them before about how long it generally took them to ship and for you to receive your orders?

Any info would be greatly appreciated!

Well I guess no one has ever ordered from them before. To finish the thread, I placed and paid for a small order of caps on the first of last week, and according to the envelope I received today by first class mail, it wasn't shipped until this past Monday. I will be sticking to Mouser.com from now on.

Thanks to the few people who at least looked at the thread.

Hey, did you contact TopCat, willawake or Galvanized? They are staff at badcaps. TopCat ships out the capacitor kits.

Well, as stated above I did get a reply from TopCat in a post that has since been deleted on their forum saying the caps were shipped when in fact they were not until this past Monday and since he chose not to respond or send emails, I just waited patiently for the caps to arrive, as I was sure that they would. The reasons why I am sticking to mouser is better communication, and quicker shipping/delivery times. To compare, I placed an order with Mouser.com last Wednesday for some very small caps(to re-cap a Netgear router) and they were shipped the same day and delivered last Friday, where the order from Badcaps took a whole week to even ship, and then three more days for delivery. I do greatly appreciate the Badcaps forums as a source of info though, even if I probably won't place an order from them again.

Usually, the bigger electronics stores like digikey, newark and mouser are very reliable and relatively inexpensive. An equivalent on the hardware side of things would be McMaster (plumbing and miscillaneous mechanical hardware).

I have never bought anything from TopCat, so I don't know about their service. But glad to know that your items arrived.

Topcat is usually very prompt about the shipping of orders. I did also have one instance of him not replying to an e-mail request, and I never did ascertain the reason. I've also found that he (topcat) has some odd sized capacitors that are of essential use sometimes. I've also used Mouser almost exclusively, and they are excellent.

I would probably order from there again, now that I know about how long that I will have to wait for shipping and delivery. It is just frustrating to wait so long and have almost zero communication. It would be nice if they could have a brief mention about shipping and delivery times, along with an explanation of their communications policy, somewhere visible on the website, like an Order FAQ Page or something.

As an update the re-capping went fine and the board has been up and working for a while now, although I haven't really stressed it yet.

Thanks again for the replies and comments!
