Keyboard and Mouse for Gaming?

Which is the best keyboard and mouse combo for gaming? I heard that wireless keyboards and mouse are not good for gaming, is that true? I am using an old wireless keybaord and mouse from logitech MX700. Mouse kinda sucks in gaming. Keyboard is okay though, but rather replace both at once now.

g15 or saitech for the keyboard
g5, g7, or copperhead for the mouse

which you choose depends largely on personal preference.

Also logitech is creating a new version of the g15 called the g11 that is the same thing but it doesn't have the lcd display, and they are also making a g3 which is a differently shapped g5 with less buttons. Both new versions will be cheaper then their counterparts.

I'd go with the Logitech G5 mouse and G15 keyboard. That's what I'm currently using and I love them.

I dont' know about the best but I am using a Microsoft Wireless Desktop 6000 and am loving it. I love the color & look and the mouse & keyboard work great. Wireless Laser Mice also don't eat through batteries weekly like the intillieye ones did.

I play lots of games...mainly WoW but many others as well and this set has never failed me yet

I'm going to be buying a G7 (black, if I can find a store with it in stock), and an Enermax Aurora keyboard.

Not sure how well that keyboard will be for gaming...but I think it's just what I'm looking for

The Aurora looks pretty sweet and stylish, but I'm not sure why it has such a high price tag? There doesn't seem to be anything special about it...

Probably the brushed aluminum...I can't say that the integrated USB hub and audio ports really add value - from the reviews I've read the audio ports are very cheap - and the USB hub is only 1.1.

It appears to use "laptop style" keys though.

I just want one that's sleek and looks good...not any of this "ZOMG LOOK AT MY UBER 1337 LIGHTED GAMING KEYBOARD"

I know one thing for sure though, I won't get another wireless keyboard (I have Cordless MX Duo right now - MX700 is great though)...this keyboard I have lags behind me close to a half second sometimes...I get a full word ahead out before I have any idea that I've made a typo.

I use Saitek/G5 and its pretty good combo from my experience. Also to add... unless you dedicate loads of money into getting the top of the line keyboard/mouse you really are not going to notice much of a performance decrease if you choose different brands... Logitech keyboard (wired that is) are just as good as the Saitek ones... Razor mouses are just as good as the Logitech mouses. It really comes down to what you have experience with, and your preference as far as looks go. Other than that you will see relatively no performance drop in anything you get if you stay intune with the main brands in each department.

Mice, not mouses

Razor is funny because they gloat they use up to 2000dpi on some mice, and claim their competitors use much less. The G7 uses the same. When you get into the quality levels of these mice ... it's about comfort.

Yes my favorite part is the sweet LCD screen on it. Soon they'll be updating software for it to make it display more things, such as game scoreboards and such.

great idea, its not like theres already 490 threads on the same topic

the keyboard really shouldn't matter, just see what is comfortable. Most people I play with use a logitech (wired) mouse. Start with something in the mx500 series

I used the mx510 for a while until I upgraded to my G5, but it was a great mouse. You're right though, mouse and keyboard choices depend on what you're comfortable using.

G15 and MX700...., never gonna switch, booting from mouse is the best, and i would lose it with a G5 or G7 so...

and they are both awesome for gaming
