I have a router (Linksys WAG54G). It's got 4 LAN ports. They are all full and I'm also using wireless but I also want to add a wired device. Instead of changing one of the devices to wireless to free up a port, what can I do?

Do I buy one of those gateways? If so, what type and brand?

Thanks

Buy a switch, plug it into one of the LAN ports on the Linksys, then plug the extra device into the switch.

You shouldn't need a crossover cable as most home switches have the ability crossover internally (usually listed as Auto MDI/MDI-X in the features).
