Hey im getting a new comp and so far i have p5b mobo, lian li 65b case, hiper 580w psu,74gb raptor, and lg dvd burner, ocz ram

i still need to buy vid card(?????), cpu(e6600), heatsink (thermalright 120 ultra) and a 120 fan to mount onto heatsink

the thermalright 120 is tall as **** so i want a fan that powerful and not TOO loud 30 dB is fine any suggestions on which fan???

(i plan to oc e6600 from 2.4 to 3.0 ghz)

HI,

I have a similar setup... I just got the Thermalright Ultra 120 and installed it. Right now I have a regular 120mm fan connected to it. I am looking for a 120 mm fan that can connect to the CPU fan header on the motherboard and that can be controled with speedfan. The CPU fan header is 4pin, does it matter if I use a 3pin fan? I ordered a fan, 4pin, but got a fan with a molex connector. I really know little about fans I guess, lol.

:welcome: to the Forums, plural..

The fan in the link below should fit your request, nfxgosu

dscrap , The 4 pin header on the mobo is for Pulse Width Modulation type fans!
A 3 pin fan should work also.. Here's a link to a connector.

You'll need 1 conn. housing and 3 pins. Or you could splice a 3 pin off of a old fan onto your fan wires. Or get a 4 pin to 3 pin adapter.. :)

I have a Yate Loon 47cfm fan on my Ultra 120 which tops my e6600... and i am able to hit 4.005ghz

for 3.70 YOU CANT GO WRONG (pluss they are nice and quiet)

And 3.0ghz with an e6600 is a cake walk... you dont even need to touch the vcore just bump the fsb to 333 and u have a Woodcrest Xeon 3.0ghz chip!

AS for vid card... evga 7900gto (if you can find one)
