I have little room for a good Northbridge cooler, and my mainboard's MB Fan died so I'm running my computer off a very ghetto cooling mod right now... a Pentium 1 heatsink and a 2.5" fan that I ripped out of a smashed up video card cooler.
I'm looking for one that has the form of a book, not a huge cube, otherwise I'll loose both of my PCIe 1x slots, both of which I use for a network and sound card.
Stock NB HS at 260mhz: 100C
Ghetto'd HP P1 heatsink with glued-on fan at 275mhz: 29C (ambient temp 25)
It works great, but it's too big, I need something that's about 8x8x1.5 inches, any larger and it won't fit.
And yes, it is a tension bracket made of: string, 2 rubber bands, and Meccano... the only childs' toy that can allow you create this: http://www.meccano.us/difference_engines/rde_2/
And for anyone who wants to say it... yes my mainboard is a P.O.S., but it works just fine... when it's not broken...
Wait, I just realised... I only have 2 screws holding my mainboard in
