Raptor Noise? New Drive?

I have an 8mb cache 74 gig Raptor and it really is noisey and feels "slow" on performance.

I'm thinking of replacing it with a new 16mb cache 74 gig raptor but I realize that for $150 bucks...I could get 2x perpindiculars and intel matrix raid them. My question is, is it worth it? The partition I create will only be for the OS..

Yeah, they can be noisy. Got any HDTach or ATTO benchmarks to post up? If you sell your old drive for $100 and get the new, your cost will only be about $60. Still, the RAID setup you propose would be money better spent.

Burst speed? Which seems about right. More important is your average read/write and seek time.
