Is this a decent monitor? I don't feel like spending the extra $$$ to get an lcd that's the same size but lesser quality than a crt. I don't care that it weighs 80lb.

From what I've heard, it's a great CRT. Probably one of the best choices for the aged CRT genre.

This is basically the defacto standard of CRTs. If you can stand the weight and volume then this is the best 24" monitor money can buy IMO.

The question is...what will you use it for that needs an absolute top of the line CRT where a good quality LCD that size won't be good enough?

i can get a refurbished one for $99 so i figure it's worth the $$$ to get it rather than spend more on an lcd that won't hace as good as a picture.

Mods can you move this to the monitor section, i didn't realize there was one when i made this thread.

If you have a good LCD (and as long as you don't put it along side of a CRT, comparing the dark levels, etc) you will think a good LCD is just great.

But I guess you can't get an LCD for $99. But then an LCD will cost you $20 in shipping not $200.

One good thing about CRT's, is you can run any res up to the max and it looks good, no scaling artifacts. Thats probably the reason I kept it for so long.
