Can't find DVD player with BOTH DivX and RESUME!

Well, I tried posting this at CD Freaks, but have got no replies yet (and very vew views for that matter):

I have been frustrated in finding a standalone (component) DVD player that has this combination of features:
  • Will play DivX disks
  • HAS DISK MEMORY (or RECALL or RESUME--or whatever the manufacturer calls it)

Disk MEMORY is the capability where a disk can be stopped in the middle of playing AND REMOVED from the tray--and even AFTER one or more (I've seen memories up to 30 disks) OTHER disks are played, the player will remember the stopping point of the original disk and be able to resume playing the original disk from that point.

I would also like to have digital output (coax or optical), but it wouldn't be a deal-breaker if this were absent as long as it can play DivX and RESUME.

Also, I wouldn't be against buying a combination DVD/VHS player (I have space issues in a small cabinet) as long as it has DivX and RESUME.

I have been searching in vain for a player that that has this RESUME capability AND plays DivX disks as well. Is there anyone out there that knows of such a beast?

Or, does anyone know for sure that there isn't any such player?

Thanks in advance,
mbigna

It's pricey, but you could do this with the Xbox 360 and Windows Media Center Edition or Vista. For the price of those two things though, really you could go out and buy a Mac Mini or get an Aopen mini PC and use it as a HTPC.

There isn't a great deal of set top players in the US that can just play back DivX last time I checked. And I've not heard of the memory feature nor what it would even be called by a set top box manifacture in there list of features.
I would think that you could possibly contact DivX and ask if you can't find the features you want in the players listed on there site.

not sure on resume, but i have a philips 642 that plays any fomat i throw at it

the easiest thing would be a modded xbox with xbox media center, you can network it wired or wireless to your pc and play movies on it while storing all the movies on your pc

the feature i really like is you can also pull movie info from imdb and display the cover art and plot right on the tv for each movie you want to watch

best of all a modded xbox only costs around $120
