i keep getting this message at boot(after the IDE disks are found)

IDE CHANNEL NO 80 CONDUCTOR CABLE INSTALLED

what does that mean & how do i get rid of it

You need to use 80 conductor IDE HD calbes for your ATA 133 drives.
 
if the cable has blue plastic on one end it`s a 80 [66] speed if black on both ends then it`s 33 -40 wires ..and plug the blue end in to the mother bord
 
My parent's PC had the same error on boot up. The DVD drive wanted a 80pin cable. Here is a pic of the difference of 80 and 40 pin cables:

ps - everything will work fine if you change nothing.

i even put my HDD cable in & still
