PS3 controller's battery IS replaceable

First they say it's not and will replace the whole controller (obviously they saw this was going to cost them a fortune) so they instead are telling everybody now just to disassemble the controller and replace the batter. Jiminy Chistmas, SONY, just give everybody a straight and honest answer for once instead of the song and dance "no it isn't, yes it is, well maybe, we don't know, errr what was the question again?".

Now, are they going to give you a replacement battery too, or will you have to purchase it? And if you have to purchase it, will the cost of the battery be less than the cost of a new controller?

Rechargeable batteries are expensive, especially proprietary ones for applications like this one.

Who knows? We'll see when they either release it for sale, they start exploding in peoples' controllers or they start needing replaced.
