Gears Of War - Insane Mode Finished

Well me and my mate played through all 3 difficulties in co-op and what a challenge insane mode rocks the locusts seem to be better in attacking and kicking ya ass. It's 1 of the best games to do I think for Co-op mode really makes it worth while watching ya mate from far away get chainsawed in half.

I do think the story is rubbish as there's no real depth on what or why the war between humans and locusts started in the 1st place. But I didn't care I just wanted to chainsaw someone in half my mate is trying to get online but it can't seem to log him onto there servers.

The ending was weird you can tell there's going to be another 1 with that general riding on 1 of those flying things. Already on GameSpot.com there was a article of being a trilogy then word of a 4th 1 I think 1 game at a time please.

How ya'll rate the game?

Its a fun game, i like that its more tactical then halo. Also their isnt one really strong 1-hit kill gun (gernade launcher is borderline), so my friends cant whine when i frag 'em.

This is such a tight game, pretty hard too. Co-op is so tight.

Its fun because it combines tactical warfare and frag-fest to make a great game.

I would say 9/10, only thing I dont like is sometimes it make you hide behind the wrong wall.

Just got my 360 a few days ago and have played several hours of GOW so far. Haven't really played a shooter on a console in a few years but like the controls on this game so far. The game could have started off with a better intro, just kinda tossed you in with no story line to start with.

GoW is the best shooter that I have ever played, EVER!

This goes for all platforms, including PC.

I'm currently playing on Insane difficulty by myself and have beaten other two. This is very challenging considering how smart AI is in this game. Sometimes it feels like I'm playing against live opponents

Seriously...

If AI spots your weakness they are going to exploit it. There were number of times where I would run in front of my team and try to close the Locust holes, but they manage to get out and see that I'm by myself so they start flaking me from both sides while others are putting cover fire for them. I just couldn't belive that they were doing this.

I'd give it 9.5/10 cause game is little to short but MP makes up for it.

I don't get it, I really didn't enjoy GoW. There was zero story, it's uber scripted, and the controls are mediocre at best! Co-op mode was kinda fun but makes it impossible to enjoy the graphics. It's too easy as you can't die, and using the A button to run and take cover is a pretty bad flaw.

I guess you are playing different game then I am

You can't die?

Maybe you are playing on casual difficulty but as far as I know on Insane difficulty if you stay in the open for more then 3sec you are DEAD!

And the cover system is by far the best that was ever done in any game, simply because it has now flaws. You can roll from cover to cover, run when under fire and slide to cover, jump from cover to cover...

RedDragon, you must remember that some of these young whippersnappers where not around in the days when 1 button did EVERYTHING.

GoW is by far the best shooter I have played. People make valid points about the story, but then again compared to any other shooter I would say GoW has an above par story.

Gameplay beats all. Halo was a bore to me. Maybe GoW was a little scripted in bits, but I enjoyed that. It was more of an experience. I liked that we had boss fights. (I forget, Halo has one at the end)

The controls work for me.

Visually GoW was the first thing to really impress me on the 360. Its one of those few games like RE4 etc that are almost as much fun to watch someone play as to play it yourself.

Can anyone see Halo 3 taken a few things out of GoW's book like when your Master Chief I reckon if you have any Marines with you they do what you can do in GoW. Hide and move over to 1 wall roll about but suddenly go into cover etc etc they did that in Halo & H2 but they just rolled.

Insane mode just 2 swipes from the small jumpy things and your dead, 1 close shot with the Shotgun or 2 from a distance ya dead, And about 1 full clip if they get a full clip of machine gun and your dead. They also try to chainsaw you more as well cause there a lot smarter and try to get close to you as much as they can.

GoW is 1 game to own this x-mas if you have a 360 I love the Co-Op mode really is that dam good.

Uh, actually I was... If you're trying to say the 360 is like an Atari I'd wholeheartedly agree. Do I really want to hit one button to do two conflicting actions when there are 11 other buttons to choose from?

As far as what I meant by not dying, when playing coop and one person died the other could resurrect him. In such a scripted series of events I expect a storyline, IMO they could have done a lot better, given they have such a gorgeous engine to do in game cutscenes.

Well I and other don't know how many millions think otherwise.

Only thing I could suggest for this game would be longer single player, but that's about it. Everything else they did to perfection.

I couldn't care less about the dying bit or getting revived just give me some shooting action, smart bad guy AI and the chainsaw anyday ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR! (blood everywhere)

!!!!!!!!!!!!!Quick subject change!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not like Mortal Kombat Trilogy for Brutalities

6 feet
4 heads
7 rib cages
6 legs
8 arms
and whatever you'd want to throw at the party add blood and guts and you have your self something that got his ass kicked without the kitchen sink.

Yeah as soon as you start to rev it up then either forearm you or fire a bullet and then they get you instead. What ****es me off thou they can fire and rev it up a lot quicker than your character. And sometimes if gets on my nerves when I am low running towards the action and he clams up against a wall when I don't want him too.

But apart from them 2 set-backs it's still a dam good game got me hooked as I wanted to get the achievements for all 3 modes.
