TigerDirect really does have annoying rebates though. You have to sign up online, then wait for an email to contain your code, log back on to enter the code, print out a form, and mail it all in. What a pain. As other places get easier rebates, TD gets tougher.

But if you stick it out, you do (usually) get the rebate. Oh, they have that wonderful idea of asking for $5 of your rebate to get it to you quicker.

anyway, i bought this monitor for 200 when that coupon was floating around here. great picture and no dead pixels. if you're a gamer, check to see if your games support 1680x1050res.

most games support it anyways. a few older games don't support it though. the rebates with newegg always work. i sent 2 $50 ones in for both of my sceptres, both came in in a timely manner. of course i had to send one of them to the parents house, but.... it was 50 bucks... couldn't stop myself.

i did get my rebates back from tiger direct, but that was 4 years ago. so i dunno if they've gotten better.

you should always mention "AR" in the title... you should also mention "+ shipping" if it's not free...

this is a decent deal... my opinion doesn't say cyberdeal... i've seen cheaper (or around same price) after instant rebates b4...

FYI it does not come with a DVI cable just a VGA. Still looks like a nice deal.

yes the monitor that this topic is about uses a TN panel where as the monitor that you posted does not, unless they revised it. I personally would not buy this roughly 200 dollar sceptre for many compounding reasons. First of all it has 16.2 million colors as opposed to 16.77 million* I could go into why it is important to have an 8-bit panel but it would get rather lengthy. Also it does not come with a dvi cable, unlike the other sceptre monitor, note that neither come with hdcp. On top of this sceptre is not exactly known to have the best products (particually in the firmware department) and worst of all has sub-par customer service. Yes this will get the job done but dont expect this to stand up to a good monitor by another company and if it does die good luck getting sceptre to do anything in a timely maner.**

*Props to sceptre and newegg for actually saying this in their product specs.
** If you buy it through costco the warranty issue is solved.

Basically due to all of the minor negatives I would only get this through costco so that if I didn't like it I could return it no questions asked.

Edit: Also if you do get this monitor and want a dvi cable you can get them through monoprice.com for like 10 bucks.
