Amd 144 opty v.s. amd 3400+ Which is faster?

I currently own the opty .. and have it stable at 2.7ghz with its 1mb cache... ..

i have the option of trading my 144 opty for a 3400+ half meg core ... i've heard the 3400 can hit 3.0ghz range.. which cpu will run fastest o/c on air stock sink ? would your trade ?

I say stick with the Opty. Good luck getting the 3400 to 3.0, nevermind half the cache. Not to mention, you'll be pushing more voltage through the 3400 to reach the high speeds.

I would shy away from the 3400. It has an HT of 1600MHz compared to 2000Mhz of the other Athlons/ Optys.

the opty by far is better.
