Besides the QVL ram, could any users comment on their experience with
NON-QVL ram on the M2N-SLI Deluxe? Will be purchasing new performance
ram soon and would like to learn about any problems and their solutions
on this board. I've read in the forum about boot problems and timing issues
with non-QVL, but nevertheless am still interested in alternative brands, as
some seem to give better performance for the buck. Also, any lower vdimm
sticks will help temperatures. Thanks:santa2:
Edit; available vdimm on board is 1.8 - 2.5v. I would like to get Micron chips
if possible. I'm going with ddr2 6400 2x1G.

If you want corsair and you want microns I think you have to get 8500s but from what I hear its worth the money....

Do you know if the board would boot? The fastest setting in bios is ddr2 6400.
Could I reach 8500 speeds with multi's & dividers? Is the onchip mem. controller
going to function at that speed? I still have a lot to learn.

You did say "I would like to get Micron chips if possible"

So if you get corsair and you want Microns you should go for 8500s because the 6400s is a "mixed bag" if you know what I mean.

I thnk DDR2 6400s 2x 1Gb is a wise choise you now have to find some with micron chips.

Thanks very much, appreciate the feedback. Don't Crucial Ballistix use Micron?
They're kinda pricey but their numbers look very good. I think I'd have to pry
the heatspreaders off the Corsair to check or would a retailer have that info?
Prying them off would void the warranty wouldn't it?
