8800GTX ram overclocking

I got around to OCing my 8800gtx today. My Zippy 600W psu came so I have plenty of power.

I used ATI tool to raise the ram to 1ghz. Hit apply and looked at RivaTuner's hardware monitor. It says the ram is 396 mhz.

I thought it was just reading wrong. So I ran 3d06 at stock ram and 1ghz ram. 1ghz was 10pts slower.

So obviously ATI isn't doing anything. I also try the Nvidia control panel. Drag slider, hit test, hit apply. Rivatuner doesn't change either.


So whats up, why can't I change my ram speed?

It is an error with the drivers, you must be using 97.28 or 97.44 if you are getting this error. Revert back to 97.02 or 96.89 to correct the problem.

your ram will run at thoes speeds.... rivatuner just reads them wrong.
