Hey guys my current system is:

AMD Athlon 64 3000+ @ 2.4ghz
ASrock K8NF4G-VSTA NF4 S754 PCIE
1GB DDR400 (2x512) @ DDR480 @ 3-3-3-8 (1:1)
Sapphire Radeon X1600XT 256mb GDDR3 PCIE @ 641/1584
160GB WDC HDD
40GB WDC HDD

I have just grabbed a bargain off eBay UK, a 7900GS for £79 (price includes p&p)

Should be arriving soon...

Would my processor bottleneck a 7900GS?
Would i see a big improvement?

Max i can get my processor to run is 2.46ghz because my motherboard cannot give more than 1.55v to the CPU, but at that speed i would have to run a divider on my memory, but if i use a divider i can lower the ram timings to 2.5-3-3-7...

I dont think you'll bottleneck it much if any, 2.6 or so would be ideal. I dunno how much of an improvement the 7900gs will be over that x1600xt since it has pretty high clocks.

glad to know that the 7900GS will not bottleneck my system much, if any at all...

From reviews the 7900GS is on par with the x1950pro, which is much better than the x1600xt...

so im hoping to see a big improvement in my gaming experience with this card...

the x1600xt is not that bad of a card when overclocked, it seems to perform well and run most games out today quite well...
The 7900gs im getting should be a good improvement because it got more pipelines etc, 256bit memory bus, and is the same core as the 7900GT..
Supposedly overclocks really well too.
Im not really looking to run on high resolutions, i have a 17" TFT so i would run its native resolution of 1024x768, but with the 7900gs i should be able to run everything maxed out, AA, AF etc at 1024x768...
