IDE dvd burner issues w\ new Core2duo system

I finally got my new system up and running but I'm having issues with my BenQ IDE dvd burner. It's connected to the Jmicron PCI-IDE converter port under the pci-e slot on an ABIT AB9-pro motherboard. I searched around and ran across posts about how 965 chipsets don't have native IDE and that they have to use this Jmicron thing. It worked well enough to install windows but I can't watch movies or listen to music. It also failed to completely rip a movie though it was going full speed with UDMA access. Every time I try to play a dvd or cd with media player classic with k-lite codec pack I get....

"Media player classic could not render some of the pins in the graph, you may not have the needed codecs or filters installed on the system.

"The following pin(s) failed to find a connectable filter:

I also tried the community codec pack but that didn't work either. Regular windows media player 9 says something shorter but along the same lines of "you need codecs". I reinstalled both programs to no avail. I don't get it.

Nevermind, I'm stupid. I updated the onboard audio drivers and it works. I didn't think they'd ship a disk with drivers that need to be updated just to work but oh well. Problem solved. Sorry about that.
