What i'm trying to do, is make an access point for wireless connections at work. I have a work laptop that sometimes i need to use away from my desk. There are no wireless routers in the building. I have a linksys wireless PCI card and want to install it in a desktop PC, and access the network through that computer. Is this possible to set the desktop up as an access point?

Also make sure that your work is ok with setting up a wireless network, these are often called "rogue" access points and are frowned upon.

ps
If I called it a shade of red I forgot how to spell it.
